InfoSonics Introduces Ruggedized Verykool RS90 Vortex Smartphone
InfoSonics Corporation today announced the expansion of its ruggedized line of phones with the launch of its new verykool RS90 Vortex Smartphone.
The RS90, nicknamed the Vortex, is the most powerful smartphone in verykool's current lineup. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual core processor and the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system.

Although elegant in its design, the Vortex is extremely ruggedized with an ingress protection rating of IP67, indicating that it is both dust proof and waterproof. It also is shock resistant and outfitted with tempered scratch resistant Corning Gorilla glass protecting its 4.5-inch qHD capacitive touch screen with In-Plane Switching technology. In addition, the phone has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera for video conferencing, expandable external storage of up to 32GB and a multitude of connectivity and media features.
The verykool RS90 is available now and comes in two versions: a single SIM version for operator customers and a dual SIM (unlocked) version for the open market.
The Company noted the following additional details of the RS90:
- 3G HSPA (7.2/5.76) dual band (850/1900) and 2G GSM quad band (850/900/1800/1900)
- Connectivity includes Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot, Modem Tethering, Bluetooth, WAP, GPS and USB port
- SMS and MMS messaging plus push e-mail
- Predictive text input
- Built-in FM radio, audio/video player and recorder
- 1800 mAh Li-Ion battery
- Speakerphone, proximity/light/gravity sensors, torch and 3.5mm audio jack and stereo headset included
- Hearing aid compatible (M3/T3 rating)
The verykool RS90 is available now and comes in two versions: a single SIM version for operator customers and a dual SIM (unlocked) version for the open market. Its suggested retail price is $279 (U.S.).
